Thanks for your message. I'm becoming less convinced that Elizabeth was a Billingsley, but I haven't made much progress otherwise!
Samuel and children show up in the 1860 census in Lawrence Co. IL. By 1870 he is listed alone. I don't know what happened to Elizabeth. As far as I know they had 6 children: John, Mary, Eliza, Emaline, Samantha, and Charles. Samantha was my gg-grandmother. She died abt 1924 and according to her obit, she was the first to die of these 6. The same obit mentions a Mrs. Emma Kent of Cleveland Ohio. Does this sound like the right Emma? -- Karen
