Dear Renee,

Naturalization record index at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohcuyah2/nats/coarch/part4/pg0229.html has the following:

Strainic George
Address: 1396 E. 31st St. Cleveland, Ohio
567805 - Vol.31, pg. 78 Court of CommonPleas, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, Ohio
Born: Austria April 1, 1882
Date and Port: Sept. 13, 1901 Baltimore
Naturalized: Oct. 1, 1915
Witnesses: Nicholaus Stranic 2547 Hamilton Ave. Elias Radich 2404 St. Clair Ave.
Notes: Pet. 7478 Soundex: S365

The age would be about right to be your George. A lot of countries were part of either Austria or Hungary, so I wouldn't let that put you off checking on this if you think it might be him. You can request a copy by email through the Cuyahoga County Achives (countyarchives@nls.net). Cost is minimal (I think about $3.00 total) and they will bill you when they send the record. Archives web page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohcuyaho/archives.htm

These often have villages of origin or birth as well as other information of interest. Good luck!

Janet
