George Price family, Cuyahoga Co. Ohio, 1820 census

Think I have found my g.g.grandfather's father, George Price, on the 1820 Independence, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio Fed. census. But I cannot prove anything. How can I go back
further, when the territory was Northwest Territory (?), before Ohio became a state? I need to find land purchase
records, probabe records, etc., but don't know where to go.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
