Hello! If you are looking for Kepchars from PA, you may want to look for "Kepshires" in Patton, PA (Cambria County). My grandfather was Sam Kepshire, but that is the Americanized version of his name. My grandfather's family has branches in CT (see former baseball player "Curt Kepshire" and Detroit, MI.

A distant relative of mine, Joe Wanchik, posted the following online: "My grandfather was John Kerpcar. He was from the village of Jastrabie, Slovakia. When he and his brother went to get their U. S. citizenship papers the judge misspelled their names and it became Kepshire. His brother lived in Gary Indiana. My grandfather had 12 children and only one remains and she is 95 years old. Perhaps you are a decendent of my grandfather's brother who lived in Indiana. You can E-Mail me at"
