Looking for information on the ancestry of Wells M. Cook, b [acc. to his obit in the Racine {WI}Daily Journal, 11 Oct 1910] in Cuyahoga County, 30 Aug 1838. There is a Caleb Cook, with child Wells, age 10, on the 1850 census of Olmstead, Cuyahoga, OH. Is this the right family?
He apparently had a sister [name?] who married a James Bell, who had moved to Wisconsin, when Wells moved from Ohio in the 1860s to stay with her in WI. In 1871, he married Avis Foxwell in Yorkville, Racine County, WI. It appears that they were not living together when he died in 1910. He is on the 1910 census living with his brother-in-law, John Foxwell in Anoca, Minn. I can't find his wife Avis at all on the 1910, though she lived to 1914. I'd be very interested in sorting out their strange relationship. They apparently had four sons who all died young.
Avis was the sister of my great-grandfather, William Foxwell.
