Child original name was Pearl Bovington,adoption finalized in 1923,it was an agency adoption,the agency does no longer exist,child was at Cleveland Protestant Orphan Asylum (now called Beech Brook).

Only one family in 1920 Cuyahoga County,Oh.,that was Bovington. That of Minister David Bovington born England and wife Martha (Lockhart) born Canada. They list children Richard D.,Marguerite,David L. and Archibald Thomas Covington in there home,these children went by Bovington in all other records.All children born Canada.Miss Marguerite Bovington age 27 is listed in Philadelphia City,PA.,on April 10,1930,as children's social worker.She is single living in an apartment with a Miss Mary Albaugh,born Ohio,copy writer.In same city is single,38 year old Herman Hoffman Birney (author),they marry in Cuyahoga County in 1930.Later moved to Huntsville,Ala.
