Betty,
Did your family have something to do with the paper mill?
In 1980 the whole Cuyahoga River Valley from Rockside Road in Independence to the Metro Parks north of Akron became a National Park.
Right now the houses in Jaite have all been fixed up and have become the headquarters for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. So nobody but a few park bigwigs have lived in and around Jaite since 1980 or so. With the few people that lived in Jaite up till then I think your chances of finding anybody's whereabouts is rather slim.
There were thoughts of turning the Jaite paper mill into an historic site but that has been abandon. The mill buildings are in the process of being torn down but the paper making machine is being preserved.
For several decades there has been a scenic railroad line operating in the valley. And Jaite is one of the stations

Charlie
