FINDING Ida [Dora] Meier, Meyer, Myer, dau of John and Catharine
Posted by: Norman Peters (ID *****0586) Date: December 10, 2005 at 05:51:30

What happened to Ida Meier, Meyer, Myer, daughter of John and Catharine (Ihrig) Meier?

In 1870 John and Catharine Meyer were living in the First Ward of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County Ohio, with their daughter Ida and John's father Peter.

John died in the late 1870s; in 1880 Catharine and her daughter are listed together with Catharine's father, Adam Ihrig. Family history records Catharine's death in Cleveland in 1898 and Adam Ihrig's death in Cleveland in 1894.

Where are John Meier, Meyer, Catharine Meyer, Adam Ihrig, and Adam's wife Margaret Ihrig, d. 1872, buried?

AND what happened to Ida Meyer? She can not be located on the 1900 nor the 1910 census.

The only clue to Ida is in the Cleveland city directories, 1890-1898. Based on addresses, she may have started using the name Dora Meyer.
