Dear Mary:
the following info might help you, but you may use the google search engine and look for
"Akron Beacon Journal" +obits"

Finding an obituary prior to 1985
The Beacon Journal library is closed to the public. If you need to find
obituaries prior to 1985, please contact the Akron-Summit County Public
Library. They can be reached at 330-643-9010.

The Akron-Summit County Public Library also keeps a list of freelance
genealogical researchers. They may also be able to assist you in other
searches.

The Akron-Summit County Public Library has obituaries dating back to
1840. They have a gap from 1986 to 1989 they are trying to fill. They said
obituaries are fairly easy to find since there is usually a date to search.

Good luck, Manfred
