Also additional information. On a Vernon TWP map dated 1873, which shows the entire township land ownership, I see a John Sutter having 2 40ac par in sect 27, Charles Sutter having 80ac right next to the above 2 par.

In section 34 I show John Sutter owning 3 more 40ac par and Charles Sutter owning a 40 ac tract. I also show Charles Sutter owning 120 ac's in sect 22.

Also in a 1855 map of Vernon Township showing land ownership I show a name different owning the same land as above. John Suitor and Charles Suitor. However that is par for the course. With the imigrants not being able to read or write and talking with broken english, the person trying to make out their names was spelling things the way he heard them.. That explains the difference between Suitor, Sutter and Suter.
