I am searching for information on my Great Great Grandfather, Theobald Dubolt Singer (born 1797), and his wife Mary Ann Like (Leich) Singer (born abt 1800), They came to the United States about 1834 with three children. Records indicate that Theobald and his wife Mary, were born in Alsace (Elshus) France, as were their parents. Records also indicate that in 1834 he purchased 80 acres of land from the United States Government in the State of Ohio, County of Crawford. They were both Catholic. Based on the first Census Theobald and Mary encountered, the children’s names were Magdalena (born abt 1827), Catherine (born abt 1831) and Margaret (born abt 1833) also born in France. Additional Children born in Crawford county Ohio were: Mary and Martha (twins) born 1838, Nancy (b 1840), Andrew (b 1842), Caroline (b 1844), and possibly a Rosa. Magdalena could have been Theobald's sister instead of a daughter. Records indicate that she married a John (Leich) Like in Ohio. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
