My great great great grandfather was John Shrenk. He was editor and publisher of the Bucyrus Democrat, a Whig political newspaper in Bucyrus, Ohio about 1835 until about 1842. He was born 3 AUG 1812 in Harrisburg, PA where when he was old enough he worked for the Harrisburg Telegraph. Then he moved to Bucyrus, Ohio. He died in Fremont, Ohio in 1857 of typhoid fever at about age 45. His wife Jane, daughter of James Faloon of Bucyrus died the next year of consumption in Bucyrus, Ohio. While researching his newspaper, I have come across mention of your relative as a newspaper publisher also and just thought it was interesting to read your post. Have you ever come across any mention of John Shrenk?
