Mary Hammel was born 06 April 1807 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and died 08 February 1870 in Lee County, Iowa. She married John Cox on 25 January 1826 in Coshocton County, Ohio, son of Martin Cox and Rebecca Hull.
