Migrationn to Clinton Cty OH from Voluntown CT c1837

am interested in learning about the reasons for migration from Connecticut to Ohio in 1837. The family migrated from Voluntown, London County, CT in c1837 to Clinton, County Ohio (Wilmington = city). Clinton County OH is in what was the Virgina Military Lands. Although most families in CT migrated to OH to the northeast "Great Western Reserve", this family did not and I am interested in what may have drawn them to this particular area.
