Help Needed Clinton County Courthouse Researchers
Posted by: Sue ASH (ID *****6674) Date: April 19, 2002 at 08:15:07

We are in NEED of some Willing and Able volunteers to
continue with helping research the Clinton County
Courthouse records for queries the courthouse offices
recieve. It varies each month but averages several a week.
It is mainly birth, death, deeds, land, marriage, divorce
that are sought. Once the books are all moved to the
Nelson Road Archives address, it should help with the task.
Some research can be conducted at the Historical Society.

The Genealogy Society has tried to do this on a volunteer
bases and we simply dont have staff to conduct this in a timely matter.

If you are a paid researcher that can be worked out too, if you want to take this project on. The courthouse would simply refer the query to you by mail. Then it would be between you and the person with the query, to work out fees.

My health has made it nearly impossible to continue this
and I would really like to find some folks to carry on the
research. If not, the courthouse offices will have to return the queries. We will continue to try to answer the queries until we can find help. I have one husband and wife team besides myself, and they travel a good deal.
