In Memoriam-Edith Kerns Smith

Edith Carolyn Kerns was born at South Salem, Ross County, Ohio, Aug. 4th,1856. Here she spend her childhood, moving to Clinton County sixty years ago.

On November 7th, 1890 she was united in marriage with John Vincent Smith who passed away in October, 1915. Three daugthers and two sons were born of this union all who were with their mother in her last illness.

She also give a mother love and care to her four step-children. She leaves to mourn their loss with the children, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

On June 4th,she suffered a paralytic stroke and passed away one week later at her home in Blanchester at the age of eighty-six, ten months and seven days-thus ending a long and useful life.
