Jenny,
In 1807, Isaac Taylor settled in Paint Twp. in Highland County, Ohio. His brother, Abraham came in 1811. They were from Delaware and were in their 40’s at the time with families. They did have children of the age you are looking for.
Abraham left a will when he died in 1834 naming his children, none of which were named John. Isaac has no head stone or will in Highland County, but it is presumed he died there. He may have had a son, John.
There is a John Taylor on the 1820 Census in Brushcreek Twp., which bordered Paint, even more then than it does today. Also, a John Taylor married Rachel Manliff on 30 November 1820 in Highland County. I do not know if this is the same John in both of these records.
I did not see a John Taylor in either county on the 1830 Census index, but may have missed one sisnce there were so many in the state.
Clinton County was formed in 1810, much of it from Highland, although not any part of Paint or Brushcreek. In fact, they are on the opposite end of Highland/Clinton border.
I hope this may help but it could also be the wrong family. They are the only Taylor's I am aware of from Delaware in this area.
Good luck,
Steve Taylor
