Joan, I haven't been able to find where the Clinton Co. Kizers came from. Have researched my line back to a Samuel Kizer who
married Elizabeth Rix in 1840 and came to Grant Co.,IN in 1852. There was a Philip
Kizer who married Rhoda Hendrickson in 1820
but have found no way to link the two families. The Hendricksons came to Clinton
Co. from PA and the Lieurances came from NC.
Most of the early settlers were NC Quakers.
The Rix/Ricks families were from NC. I am aware of some of the PA and MD Keyser/Kiser/
Kizer families but can't find linf to them.
As a matter of fact---My Samuel Kizer states
on the 1880 census of Grant Co.,IN that his
mother was born in Maryland and his father
in INGLAND. That doesn't spell England so I'm
not sure what the census taker had in mind.
I have spent a lot of time researching the
Clinton Co., OH Kizers and know pretty well where they all went to but just can't find where they came from.
Regards, David Watson
