They moved to Putnam Co, MO in about 1855. I have their 1870 census entry there. I have death certs for two children--William Joseph and Hugh Marshall.

Nelson was the sheriff of Putnam County by 1870.

What I don't have is Nelson's parents. Boo. He's definitely not the same Nelson Applegate who married Jane (Tate) Kain in Clermont Co. in 1846. I tracked that family through 1900 and they stayed put the whole time.

I'll have what info I have up on the site later tonight.
