The Reverend William Robinson Ely served as a minister of this denomination in Batavia or Acton, from about 1844 to 1863.
Supposedly, in 1863, he and his wife (Lavinia Weaver) buried 4 of their children in 3 days, of a malignant epidemic of flux. Shortly thereafter their home burned to the ground.
In 1864 the family moved to Savannah, Missouri, remained there for 20 years, and returned to Batavia in 1884. He died there September 13, 1903.
For genealogy purposes, I trying to confirm if any of this is true.
Thank you in advance for any help.
