I have Harris' in Clermont County, Ohio, but I cant tell if they tie to yours, so here they are:

I haven't heard any one mention Orlo Harris my g. Grandfather. He was born in Bird City, Cheyenne County, Kansas on July 31, 1891 and died 24 Aug 1986 in Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa. He married Leona May Triplett born 4 May 1896 in Blanchard, Iowa. Orlo had written a book and in it he told many stories. We know his parents were William Simpson Harris born 06 Nov 1858 in New London, Iowa and he died 25 Jun 1939 in Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa. He was married to Susan Dollie Timms who was born 17 Sep 1871 in Pearl City, Illinois and died in Council Bluffs, Iowa at Mercy Hospital on 30 Jun 1930. William's parents were James Harris born 25 Sep 1822 in Batavia, Cleremont County, Ohio, and died in Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa on 21 Oct 1905. His wife was Martha McAdams born 24 May 1830 in Ohio and died 24 May 1830, in Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa. I know they lived in Ohio till before 1958 till their son William was born in Iowa.

All I know about James' parents were his name was James and he was a Methodist Minister. James Sr. would have lived in or near Batavia Ohio in 1822. James Sr also was born in Virginia. James' mother died when he was four years old. I have no siblings for James Jr.

Here is where the speculation come in ......I have been looking at a couple who fit to a T.... but I have no documentation. I have been looking at James Harris born 13 Jan 1782 in Harrison County, Virginia (now part of West Virginia) and died 14 Sep 1867 in Amelia, Clermont County, Ohio (just a few miles from Batavia, Ohio where James Jr. was born) 1850 & 1860 census found him in Batavia, Clermont County, Ohio. He was Methodist. He married Phebe Dial born 30 Oct 1794 in Rowan County, North Carolina and died on 17 Aug 1826 in Clemont County, Ohio. (just four years after James Jr. was born). They did have a son named James. Phebe's parents were Shadrach Dial born 1759 in Pennsylvania and Nancy Horney born 1764 in Maryland. This James had a second wife, Elizabeth Sims born 1806, and died 16 Jan 1883. Both her birth and death place was Clermont County, Ohio. They had several children. Frances M, Phebe, Benjamin Layton, Joseph O, and Anna A Harris. If any one can help me tie this together, or disptrove this union, Please contact me.
