Ancestry of Stella Jane Dye

It would seem that the father of your Stella Jane was Augustus Dye. He is on the 1850 and 1860 census, but he is dead by 1870, and his widow Amanda is remarried.

Now if Augustus is a nephew of Abel and Oletha Manchester, then either Oletha or Able is a sibling to Amanda. Looking at the1880 census, Amanda was born in OH, and one parent was born in MA. Oletha was born in KY as were her parents. Able, as well as his parents were born in MA. So that leads meto believe that Amanda was a Manchester.

***********************************************************
There is an Amanda Manchester, in the same neighborhood as Augustus Dye was in 1860. The only problem I am seeing, is that the Abel Manchester is now much younger than Amanda, instead of older. I STILL am of the conclusion that Amanda was a Manchester.

Alright, the 1850 census, brings everything into focus. Amanda was aManchester. Daughter of Hiram and Rachel. Hiram was a younger brother to a Charles Manchester, and that Charles had the Abel Manchester who had Augustus Dye iving with him. If I read the 1850 census right, Charles and Hiram are siblings. Able Emily, Filmla (Philamena) are siblings, children of Charles and Sophia.
