Checked through quite a few Clark County cemetery books today and have yet to discover that surname. There were actually 2 books for the Fletcher Chapel Cemetery and thought surely one would list him. There's several possibilities that could unpuzzle this... perhaps no headstone or marker, or there were last minute changes after the obit was published, or the remains moved later to a different cemetery or his headstone/marker was overlooked during the reading.
Does his death record also confirm the place of burial as Fletcher Chapel Cem in Clark Co, OH? Have you checked where his wife & children were buried? Did his widow, Laura French continue to reside in Dayton?
The old City Hospital is now called the Community Hospital but seriously doubt that they'd have any records from that long ago.
At that time, Frank J Coffman operated the Coffman Funeral Home which is no longer in busines but he was assisted by Austin Richards and the name later changed. The Austin Richards Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home is currently still in business in Springfield.
