CLARENCE R. FINNEY
77, of Springfield, died at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday,
February 1, 1994 in his residence, He was born
September 26, 1916 in Plains, Ohio, the son of
Arthur G. and Lulu (Wood) FINNEY. He retired in
1979 as a truck driver for Schwerman's Trucking,
Fairborn, after over 26 years. He made deliveries
for :Meals on Wheels" for Elderly United the
past 9 years. Mr. Finney was a member of
Centra Church of the Nazarine. He was a veter-
an of World War II, serving in the United States
Army. Mr. Finney is survived by his wife of 57
years, Mary L. (Strickle) Finney, whom he mar-
ried June 13, 1936; two sons and daughters-in-
law, Larry and Clara Finney of University Park,
Iowa and Ted and Marcia Finney of Mechanics-
burg, Oh; two daughters and a son-in-law,
Carol and Carlos Sparks of Cowan, Tennessee
and Sandra L. Harmison of Enon; a sister, Mrs.
Donald (Stells) Hough of Windsor, Georgia; sev-
eral grandchildren,nieces and nephews. Friends
may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in the JACKSON
LYTLE & INGLING WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME,
North Limestone Chapel. Funeral service will be
held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Central Church of
the Nazarine with Rev. Robert Lanier officiat-
ing. Interment will be in the Glen Haven Memorial
ARdins. Contributions may be made in Mr.
Finney's memory to Hospice of Mercy.
