why was Gr-Uncle John here in 1919?
When my gr-grandfather's will was propated in 1919 in Lucas Co., it listed his four children and their whereabouts. Two children still lived in Lucas Co., one was in France for the war, and the youngest son was listed as living in Springfield/Clark Co.I have no idea why and wish to try and trace him:
John Gillaum, b. in 1906 (age 13)
I lose track of John after this point. Surnames of possible relatives could be HENRY, ZBANEK, SAGAR, GILLAUM, GUILLAUME, although I can't trace any to this area yet.
Is there any city directory for 1919?
John was a witness to his father's suicide two years earlier. The family had absolutely no money (total amount of father's estate was only $50 in 1919), so I don't imagine that he could be attending any type of school unless under a scholarship.Could he have been placed in some type of home or institution?
Most of the siblings never kept in contact with each other.I have traced the death of another brother, but can't locate this youngest son, and don't know if he survived to adulthood.Would appreciate any help with this search.
