page 437 of the Springfield;Clark Counties book reads:
About 1821, The Farmer became the property of Henry Rogers and its name changed to The Farmers' Advocate.Henry Rogers disposed of the paper to his brother, Benjamin H. Rogers who continued it under the name of The Western Pioneer.Benjamin H. Rogers died in 1884 and the paper was published for some time by his brother, Simeon Rogers.In 1825, George Jewett was the publisher.
