I believe that the Charles marriage I just listed – might be one of the other Charles Swimley’s…….
Joseph’s son, Charles confuses me…following is Charles Swimley the Dr. I am assuming that he is Joseph’s son, as there is a 15 year old C. L. Swimley (brother) living with Joseph’s eldest son, William, in 1880 (he was a DR. – and his eldest son, Floyd, went to Starling Medical...) – However – there is a Charles living with Joseph in 1880 age 15…so I don’t know if he was just counted twice (because he was just visiting his brother) or whether this C. L. Swimley living with William was another Swimley boy (nephew or cousin). With so little records I’m not sure we will know – unless Dr. Charles Swimley’s descendants have some record of their Father’s origins. Here’s the DR. !! :

Note: Charles attended Starling Medical College in Columbus graduating in 1895 / medical practice in Ripley, Payne Co. OH
Married: Ruth L. Wallace* abt 1903. She was born in Illinois Nov. 1877 lived in Kansas & Oklahoma. It is presumed that she died between 1910-1920, as her children are found living with others in 1920. She is also buried at Walters Cemetery, Cotton Co. OK

m. 2x : Leona Frances Biggs 20 Mar 1947/ Arline Roe (widowed from James Cull)
Donald Frank b. 11 Jan 1910 / d. 21 Nov 1983 / m. Stella Haggard 6 Nov 1935 – lived in Denver COL
* - Her Father was Thomas J. Wallace, b. Feb 1844 Schuyler Co. Ill {Father – Alfred C. Wallace, b. 4 Oct 1806 TN / / Mother - Elizabeth Skiles, b. 21 Aug 1808 TN}
- Her Mother was Melvina Phillips b. Oct 1846 Ill. She and Thomas were married 5 Nov 1868. They had children: Raymond, b. Jul 1869, Ruth, & Walter H. b. Jun 1872. In 1880 they lived in Kansas / In 1900 Thomas & son were working on an OK Indian Reservation while Ruth lived with her Mother in KS. By 1910 Thomas & Melvina were living in OK; they ended up keeping the Swimley children for a time following the death of their Father in 1919 (1920 census mis-spells their name as “Sweenley”).
