It appears that the following families departed there heading West in the Spring of 1856: Gadbury's, Shroyers, McCutcheon's and Wells. There were probably others. It was all just part of the mystique of cheaper land and the Westward migration. Most of these families settled in Mahaska County, Iowa. Any help or comments appreciated.
