Hello! I am a member of the Kings Creek Baptist Church. We are getting ready to celebrate our 200th anniversary of our church this June. According to our records, The Gutridges and Turners were indeed founders of our church; it shows that Elizabeth Turner was James Turner's sister. Ann Ford Turner was the first person buried in Kingscreek cemetery. We have located their graves behind the church.
I am confused about John Gutridge. From the time our church was organized in 1805 until 1829 Rev. John Gutridge along with Rev. John Thomas were the pastors of our church. I can't figure out if this is John Gutridge, husband of Elizabeth Turner, or if they had a son named John that was maybe our former pastor.
If I have any information that would help I would be glad to try and help you.
Sherri
