1840 census for Jackson Co, Oh seems to be a different Nathaniel.

Sons of Nathaniel BURDGE seem to be in Carroll Co, Oh. Nathaniel & his wife Jane may be living apart in 1840 census - father with son Nathan M, and mother with son John.

1840 census for Brown Twp, Carroll Co, Oh, pg 194: Nathan M. Burge: males: age 20-30 = 1; 70-80 = 1; females: under age 5 = 1; 15-20 = 1

1840 census for Washington Twp, Carroll Co, Oh, pg 256: John Burdge: males: under age 5 = 1; 30-39 = 1; females: under age 5 = 1; 5-9 = 1; 20-29 = 1; 60-69 = 1.
