The Thomas H. Smith I am researching would only be about 11 years old in 1851 and he should be living with a James Galloway family as he was in 1850. My Thomas then comes to Iowa in about 1855 as he is listed on the 1856 State census in Jasper Co., IA and it says he has lived in the state for 1 year. He marries Mary Catherine Wiley in 1858, they have a son in Aug. of 1860 and Mary dies in January 1861. Thomas dies during the Civil War and his son is raised by Mary's parents, Holliday and Mary Wiley.

What types of information did the Ohio 1851 Census ask? I would really appreciate it if anyone has access to that Census and would be willing to do a look-up for me on Thomas H. Smith, Lee Twp., Carroll Co., OH.

Thank you, oh so much for the info about their being an 1851 Census.
