Migrations from Butler County, Ohio to Henry County, Iowa
Posted by: Karen Robie (ID *****6820) Date: April 16, 2012 at 13:27:45

Does anyone have any ideas about why so many people from Butler County, Ohio moved specifically to Henry County, Iowa during the 1850s?

I'd read about Quakers moving as a group to Henry County during the 1830s, along with the general history of other types of groups gradually moving westward together over time, but I haven't found any info as to how Butler County residents may have been linked in a way that would draw them to the Henry County, IA general area during that one decade. (some families from Butler Co, OH, I noticed, moved there a little earlier, but I haven't found a Quaker link, or anything else)

Thank you in advance for any tips, pointers, or clues!
