Coleman Noble, Mary Hayes & William Walter Hayes
Posted by: Sheryl Hardcastle (ID *****6140) Date: October 21, 2008 at 14:53:25

Does anyone out there have a copy of the marriage license for Coleman Noble & Mary Hayes they'd be willing to share? (They were married 2 June 1846, Pike Township, Brown County, by Smauel Wardlow, J.P.) Am hoping there is additional information on the license that may shed a light about her sons' father.

In the 1850 Brown Co. census, Coleman Noble & Mary are listed, along with Edward (9), William Walter (8), Henry Stutes (79) and Peter Stout. Edward & William Walter are listed as "Noble" but they are actually "Hayes" Their mother, Mary, was married to some gent named Hayes by 1840-1841. Am assuming that Mr. Hayes died before 1846.

By 1880, they were living in Grundy & Livingston Counties, Missouri. (William Walter Hayes is my gg-grandfather and Mary is my ggg-grandma)

Can anybody help me or am I doomed to continue beating my bloody little head against that stupid brick wall for time and eternity?

Thanks!

Sheryl
