I was just in the county recorders office this week while traveling through on Vacation from Texas.
They have two copies of an "Atlas of Brown County" dated 1876. Published by Lake Griffing & Stevenson and printed in Philidelphia PA.
You could get a photocopy of Perry and Sterling townships to examine. This atlas lists where various landowners owned property in the county and also shows the city plat of the major community in the township, such as Fayetteville and Locust Ridge.
I think this could be really helpful to you. Cindy Kline in the Recorders office was really helpful to me. (937)378-6478
