The stone house you refer to was mostlikely built by Thomas S. Donald. He was my husband's great grandfather who emigrated from Aberdeen, Scotland to the United States in 1828. In 1834 he purchased land from John Boude near the Ohio River. John Boude established the ferry across the Ohio River just west of the stone house. To this day, Boude's Ferry carries travelers across the Ohio. Both my mother-in-law, Gladys Donald, and my husband's oldest sister refer to the house as Tom Donald's house. If Thomas S. didn't build the house, it is lilkely his son Thomas Jefferson Donald did. Afteer 1865 Thomas S. Donald sold some of his Brown County property and leased some to Adam Saylor. I have no other information about the hosue.
