Brown Cty History - 1880 - In this book their is a two page account of your Samuel Gist. Samuel Hudson was one of the few still their in 1880. "Old Sam Hudson, was an odd character, and many anecdoes are yet related of him. Once he was sent to the State Prison for unlawful use of another man's horse along with a white man named Demitt.He state his occupation as "Preacher ob de Gospel! Hope this helps. CJ
