POTTS family and related surnames
Posted by: Ann Bergelt Date: March 12, 2001 at 12:26:27
  of 1086

I need help connecting my great-great grandfather, Hiram POTTS, to the rest of the long POTTS lineage back to PA Quakers and Wales immigration. Hiram was born about 1810 somewhere in PA, supposed to be be son of Jesse and Hannah SPACHT POTTS and there was at least one sibling named David POTTS who married Elizabeth CHARLES. I have found Hannah and Jesse near Russellville,Brown County, OH and need some proof of their origin in PA, Jesse's parentage and especially Hiram's birthdate and place. Hiram's first wife was Sarah RUSSLER, with whom he had several children. He married (2) about 1855, Sarah Adessa WHITE CLEAVER and there were more. Hiram was a farmer and "steamboat man" and settled in Kenton and Campbell Cos. KY by 1850. All help, input or suggestions welcomed. Have quite a bit of research to share.
