Hi Melva,

I checked out Amos Stevens at the library today. He was one of the earliest settlers in Brown county, Clark Township - about 1815. He is listed as head of household in 1830 as having 5 children eligible for school. I don't know if he is the one you are looking for or not. There were also Amos Stevens listings for Crawford, Harrison, and Huron counties. Their is also a Brown County in southern Indiana. I will let you know if I find any more.
