Your Joseph Long could have been the uncle of my Joseph. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1784 and died in 1865 buried in Brown County. His father William and his brothers came from Ireland to the USA during the Revolutionary War and lived in Pennsylvania for a while before moving to the frontier.I know the names of Joseph's siblings, but not his children. As my direct ancestor, John Benjamin Long, moved to Missouri in 1860 after a disagreement with his family and he never went back to Ohio or had any contact with his family. William Long the Irish immgrant died about 1800 and is buried near what is now Ripley, Ohio. The time line seems to fit. We lived in western Oklahoma for 100 years.
