Robert Hamilton born May 16, 1760 in Banbridge County Down, Ireland, died February 24, 1841 in Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio. He was the son of Robert Hamilton and Jane Pennington. He married Susannah Keane April 30, 1781 in Lancaster Co., PA. They had a daughter Eizabeth Hamilton born August 1, 17892 in Lancaster Co., PA. Elizabeth was the sister of my ancestor, Joseph Hamilton. Robert was a Revolutionary War Veteran having been a member of the Pennsylvania Line. He evidently started as a drummer boy due to his tender age. He served at least part of the war under Colonel Richard Butler, who I believe supported Robert's petition for a Revolutionary War pension. He served for much of the war but was a POW at one time and may have been invalided out of the service.
