I know that he died DEC 16, 1907 in a location 5 1/2 miles south west of Mason City, Custer County, Nebraska. He had one son by his first marriage to Elizabeth Smith. That son had three children and those children never created any decendent line from that point. His second wife was Ann Margaret Warrington. They was married in Guthrie Center, Guthrie County Iowa. Since 1864 the court house there has burned down twice, and no records from the time frame are available. He had ten children by his second wife. One of those children Jennie May (Holster) Flynn, had eleven children, one of which was my mother. I have extensive notes on his children and several generations down from John Frederick Holster. But I am unable to identify his parents. I have his birth date/location from His civil war records. All I know is that his father was a Reverend and his mothers name is supposed to be Margaret Rice. I have been unable to find a Margaret Rice that is married to a Holster. & Unable to find a Holster married to a Rice. They obviously lived in Ohio for a time but I cannot trace them in the Census reports. I have family lore that they (the parents) was living in Pennsylvania when they were last known. But no one in the family has knowledge of their (His parents) names or where they lived or died. All the Margaret Rice named people That I can find have yet to be connected to a Holster. The name Holster is hard to identify on the internet. The word holster also refers to guns. That reference(to guns)is found through out the internet. There is some information on a Holster family in Texas, but I have not found any connection to that family tree with mine, yet. I live in California. My mother has two sisters still alive and none of them have any information that may help. I talked to them last month and got what they know,. but that is less than What I have found. I gave them a copy of my entire file. Hopefully someone can find something. Thanks.
