The best I can do to help is in the 1830 survey of Belmont County, James McElroy with three probable children Jane, James, and Elizabeth. Elizabeth married Archibald Carr who then moved to Farmington, Iowa in Van Buren County. Father James McElroy moved to Iowa with Elizabeth and Archibald. I am uncertain as to the fate of the others. I am searching for Archibald Carr's family. I hope I could help in any way. Maybe you could also help me, it looks on the 1850 Census of Iowa that James McElroy was either born in Indiana, or that he was an Indian. I could not read this to well. The more I know the more I'll tell. Scott Hendricks from Alton Il.
