John Kaiser Congressional Medal of Honor
Posted by: Joseph Jewell Date: September 04, 2000 at 20:24:03
  of 2182

Kirkwood Township of Belmont County Ohio.
..
I am seeking information on John Kaiser, Recipient of
The Congressional Medal of Honor for his service in
"The War of the Rebellion", or "The War of Northern Aggression".
Blurb in History of Belmont County says that he
was born ___ in Germany.
..
John Kaiser married Everline (sic) White 21 Dec 1854
at Belmont County according to IGI.
..
Cemetary reading of Hendrysburg Cemetary in Kirkwood
Township gives..
Kaiser, John 1829-1902
wife Evaline 1836-1917
Kaiser John W. 1860-1950
wife Elizabeth E. 1863--1930
..
Cemetary reading of Bridgeport or Weeks Cemetary gives,
Kaiser, Joseph 1852-1932
wife Frederika 1852-1906
..
Cemetary reading of Salem M.E. Cemetary in Kirkwood
Township gives..
Kaiser, James 1857-1952
wife Mary 1855-1933.
..
This last would be the James Kaiser who married Mary Ellen
Ball, born 28 Dec 1855 to Gustaveus Ball and Elizabeth
Foreman.
..
John Ball had settled on section 16 of Kirkwood Township in 1811.
James Kaiser appears to have taken over the Ball Family farm.
..
James Kaiser and Mary Ellen Ball Kaiser had a daughter
Forest Delores Kaiser born 27 Aug 1882 in Kirkwood
Township. She married Elias William Sudduth and died
09 Jul 1959 in Fairview, Ohio.
..
She spent her entire life in Kirkwood Township of Belmont
County, and she was my Great-grandmother.

This branch of the Kaiser Famiy appears to have remained
true to the "Kaiser" spelling of the surname, as noted on the
tombstone records.
..
I have made some contact with Kaiser descendants still
in the area, Denver Kaiser and Ralph Kaiser, but they don't
seem to recall much.
..
Any and all help on this branch of the Kaiser Family in
Belmont County, and also the Ball Family would be much
appreciated.Where exactly were this Kaiser family before 1882 ?
