Gladman/Gladden (spelling???) Belmont/Monroe Co., OH

In my search for GLADMANs of Belmont & Monroe Co. Ohio, I am finding the spelling of Gladden in the same areas.
Is this TWO different lines, or just different spellngs of the same surname.
My search is for parents/sibs of a Martha Ann gladman b/1838 in Monroe Co Ohio......as per the death certificate of her son, Charles Levi GIVENS b/1861.
Martha m/Enos J. Givens. Martha d/1877 in Pleasants Co., WV.
Any assistance appreciated.
