My g-gf was A.M./Abram/Abraham THOMAS b/about 1860 in Cambria Co., PA and living in Belmont Co., Ohio at the time of his marriage in 1885.
This is.....As per his marriage licence to Lydia J.EBELING/EBERLING in 1885 Benwood, Marshall Co., WV.
In the 1880 census of Braddock, Allegheny Co., PA
I find on page 193C
David 42 b/OH with parents b/Wales
Mary __ b/PA
Grace 21, (((ABRAM 19))),James 17, Annie 11, MargreLL 9, Smilda 7, all b/PA and Nathaniel 4 b/OH.

On Page 211C of the same census, I find ............
John HUGHES 45 b/PA parents b/Wales
Maggie 39 b/PA parents b/Wales
Lizzie 17 and Charls 12
With Elizabeth (mother) 78 b/Wales.
The PLOT THICKENS..........
In 1888 in Benwood, Marshall Co., WV.......
John Hughes of Allegheny Co., PA m/Rachel(HUTCHISON) EBELING (mother-in-law of my A.M./Abram/Abraham THOMAS.
In military documents I find that this John Hughes b/October 1833, was 1st m/to Margaret THOMAS b/PA d/1883 Braddock,PA with children: Lizzie b/1868 and Charles b/1870
2nd wife was Lydia Woods of PA d/1887.
Attempting to connect these families. Have not been able to prove that the Abram of the 1880 census is my Abram. With the possible relationship with Margaret w/o John Hughes.
Any assistance appreciated
Audrey
