Hi Regina,
I haven't checked the Belmont Forum in a month or so, and am glad that I did, because I saw your post.
My 4ggm was Hannah Davis, b. 1787 in Va. who I have been researching for the last couple of months.
Hannah married William Long b. 1782 in Va.,in Ohio, 4/14/1812.
Her daughter, Lucinda,b.ca. 1824 in Belmont Co, Ohio, married my 3ggf, William Miller Burdette, 9/22/1842 in Goshen Township, Belmont Co, Ohio.
After a lot of digging, I have found that Hannah's parents were Jacob Davis, Sr., and his wife, Mary.
Her siblings were John, Maurice, Samuel,William, Jacob Jr, James, Mary, Nancy, and Susanna, in no particular order because I am still looking for dates for a lot of them.
There is a pretty good possiblity that there is a relationship there. I have found some other Davises that were not related in the 1810, 20, and '30 Censuses, but there could be a relationship that I am not aware of.
Jacob, Sr. was born in 1754 in Martinsburg, Berkeley, Va. (W. Va.), settled in Maryland for a time, and settled, and died in Belmont Co. in 1809.
Please feel free to email me, and I have some other information on Jacob, Sr. that I will be glad to share.
