Hi Richard,

Ohio marriages;
Philip Brentlinger married Rachel Wagner 13 Feb 1863 in Auglaize Co., Ohio.

The only birth I've found for Rachel and Philip is the following:
Rachel E. Brentlinger b. 3 Aug 1870 Clay father, Philp Brentlinger mother, Rachel Wagner Clay Twp.

According to the census records, it looks as if Rachel had a son before her marriage to Brentlinger, George W. Purcell/Persell. He is on the 1860/70 census recs. I haven't followed him any further than that. Abraham is no longer in the picture after the 1860 census. He may have gone into a home or died young. Or he could be in a home but his name is spelled wrong and when that happens it's very difficult to find someone.

I bought several books from Auglaize Co. Genealogical Society back in the 1990's. They are great if you have people from that area. I've found so many of my family members in them. Most are cemetery records but there are also early births, marriages, obits/probate.

If I get a chance this afternoon, I will do more research on the Brentlingers. If not, it will have to wait until later in the week.
