I'm looking for info on Harry DuMont Sr. and Jr. and any relatives.
What I know is that Harry Dumont "senior" was the father of Harry Eugene Dumont but was never married to the mother who's name was Christine Barbara Zwiebel. So, that makes Harry Eugene Dumont an "illegitimate" son of Harry Dumont.
Harry Eugene Dumont, the son, was born July 4, 1899 in Jackson Center, Ohio, Auglaize County. The mother, Christine Zwiebel, later married Harry Hassett who legally adopted Harry Dumont "Jr" and gave him the name Harry Hassett.
Harry Eugene Dumont (adopted by Harry Hassett) is my father's father, and my paternal grandfather. No one in my "Hassett" family has bothered to trace down our biological DuMont roots. That's what I'm trying to do now.
Harry Eugene Dumont/Hassett married Ruth Churchill and they had three children: John Hassett (my father), Barbara Hassett, and Jim Hassett.
Does anyone have an info?
Who are Harry Dumont Sr's relatives? Did Sr. Harry ever marry? Where was he born. Did he have any other children besides illegitimate Harry Eugene DuMont/Hassett (my grandfather)? I'd sure like to meet my DuMont relatives!
