Debby,
Sorry I haven't been searching for a while. Life kind of got in the way.
Thanks so much for all the looking you did.
Like you said they probably are there but no record.
I was thinking that their daughters might of listed their dad's name on marriage records. But didn't find anything there so far either.
The fact that there was a Samuel Peoples right next door to the Alexander family in 1840 and then no sign of him or the small son, but Mary Ann and 2 Peoples daughters living with the Alexanders in 1850....Then I got email from a gal who descends from Mary Ann's second husband and his first wife (Mary Ann's sister) She said that we are on the right track. Someone has tried to show Mary Ann as dieing the same year she got married...thinking they can't figure out where she went. But because her daughter Rebecca is shown as domestic help on the Baker farm in 1860 and then in 1870 she is married to Moses Rollins and still on the farm. It all fits together.
I noticed there were a couple Peoples living in Athens OH, born in the late 1700s to early 1800s in PA. So maybe I should look in that direction.
Thanks again for all your help. Sorry I got lost for a while.
