Pretty difficult. I was adopted and my records were sealed. Go to the SS death index. He was born July 6,1937 passed away April 2004. Slight chance his SS record might yield a name.(Info available to relatives) I think it said Samuel E. McNutt. What was his middle name? It might yield a clue. Go to his obit and read it carefully. Was he a baby when adopted? Did it list brothers and sisters or any siblings not McNutts. By the way I had NcNutt and Six in my Rutter line from the Athens area. That part of Ohio was very depressed when your Husband's father's family was growing up.Lots and lots of family members were in and out of prison. They drank hard, lived hard lives and survived by their wits. Good Luck!! Deb
